We were delighted to show two players from Saracens Rugby Club around our school.
Charlie Barker and Charlie West came for a tour of our school during Science Week. In Year 3 the children showed the sports stars what they’d been learning about magnets and fossils. While in Reception the players were treated to having their portraits drawn. In fact, it was hard tearing the players away from Reception – if they didn’t have to go and train at the gym they’d have stayed and played all day long!
We are pleased to be in the unique position of being linked to a professional sports team and we look forward to showing more guests from Saracens around our school in the future.
British Science Week is a nationwide celebration designed to boost children’s interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). During Science Week this March children at Saracens Bell Lane focused their learning around the theme ‘change and adapt.’
At the end of the week the whole school enjoyed a science fair in the sports hall. Each year group presented a display or experiment for children from other years to visit. The children presented expertly, engaging the excited children from across the year groups. Stalls included different animal habitats, how blubber protects arctic animals from freezing temperatures, and which materials break down in water.
What a brilliant week. We’re already looking forward to Science Week 2026!
It was a great opportunity to explore science in a hands-on way and spark curiosity in young minds.
These regular coffee mornings are a wonderful way to connect with other school families, get to know our wonderful teachers, and learn educational games to play at home.
Congratulations to all of our pupils who represented Saracens Bell Lane in the general knowledge competition on Wednesday 5th March.
We are delighted to let you know that Team 1 and Team 2 have been invited to take part in the semi-finals on 18th March.
After the semi-finals, a number of the top scoring teams will be invited to take part in the national finals at Oxford University on 4th July.
Our children are amazing and we wish them all the best of luck!
We had an amazing day on Saturday 1st February at StoneX Stadium, the home of Saracens Rugby Club.
In preparation for the day, Ms Rossabi had organised 2 tag rugby training sessions delivered by coaches from Saracens Rugby Club. Those children then enjoyed the incredible experience of playing tag rugby matches on the pitch at StoneX before the men’s match later that afternoon.
Staff and families were offered tickets to the men’s match on 1st February. There were free face paints and balloon models as well as a range of food and drink stalls to make use of before the match began. The playground at StoneX was also a hit with the children.
Our pupils formed the guard of honour as the players ran onto the pitch, then saw their drawings of players displayed on the giant screens.
Several bags of toys were donated by Saracens fans for the new toy library at our Children’s Centre.
All round it was a brilliant experience and we look forward to going back to support our men’s and women’s teams again soon! Look out for information about free and discounted tickets to future games on Class Dojo.
Saracens High School and Saracens Bell Lane are being given FREE TICKETS to the men’s match at StoneX Stadium on Saturday 1st Febuary (3pm kick off).
This will be the Saracens Multi-Academy Trust Takeover Match. This is our opportunity to introduce Saracens fans to our schools as well as to enjoy supporting our team, spending time together, and meeting one another’s friends and families.
About the day:

Toy Library Donations
If you have good quality toys that are suitable for 0-3 year olds, please bring them with you on the day and donate them at the gates. For a list of particular toys the Children’s Centre are looking for, click here.
Our wonderful Children’s Centre are looking for good quality donations to start a toy library.
With your generous donations we’ll be able to help many families in our local community. Being able to borrow a variety of toys will be stimulating for the babies and toddlers and may provide a little respite to weary parents!
Donations must be clean, complete and in full working order and can be brought to either the school reception or directly to the Children’s Centre. Donations can also be brought to StoneX Stadium on 1st February for those attending the match at 3pm.
This is a practical way to support local families and we look forward to receiving many donations from our caring community.
To consolidate our learning of electricity, Year 4 visited the Science Museum and explored all things circuits and voltage.
It was so exciting travelling into central London and visiting such an enormous, world-class museum.
In the Wonderlab we experienced watching lightning strikes before our eyes, discovered the power of electricity when we watched the Tesla Coil charge 1,000,000 volts right in front of us, and got to play with forces.
We are very excited to begin our new unit ‘Animals Including Humans’ in Autumn 2.
