Parents’ Metings
Parents’ Evenings are vital for the partnership between school and home.
Parents’ Evenings are times to meet individually with your child’s teachers. Parents are invited to book an appointment via the Arbor app and come to school to meet the teachers and discuss their child’s attainment and progress. These are held after school hours and pupils are encouraged to attend with their parents.
Some useful questions to ask at Parents’ Evenings:
- Is my child’s progress in line with the teacher’s expectations?
- Have they done anything particularly well, or could they do better?
- What can they do to improve?
- How can I help as a parent?
- How much time should their homework take for this subject?
- What do their grades tell us about possible performance in future exams?
- Do they contribute to lessons?
Teachers have a wealth of knowledge and experience, so ask for their guidance and suggestions on how to help your child to do their best. Good teaching means identifying areas for improvement and remembering what’s important is that they are achieving in line with their own capabilities.
